It's not summer yet

Oh boy, I have been trying very hard to keep spring in line here, but it has been a fickle season to be sure. Sunny days followed by sleet and snow, dark cold rainy days followed by a brief blip of almost summery weather...followed yet again by a freeze. I have found the that the likelihood of a deep freeze is directly linked to the belief that an early spring is here and therefore it's safe to move something from a safe warm spot in the house to a little spot of garden outside. I am glad that broccoli, the latest victim of my belief that the powers that be (Mother Nature?) know nothing about last frost dates, is a pretty hardy vegetable.

Fickle season? Isn't that basically the definition of spring? Someone remind me of this next April, OK?

Meanwhile, I have taken occasional advantage of the intermittently crappy weather to do some crafty stuff - paintings, and spinning mostly, with occasional frustrating forays into knitting. Here is some yarn I spun from Etsian EweniquelyEwe's (see link on right) roving in the colorway "Peonies",

which looks like this when spun:

and when knitted:

Pretty, eh?

...and this delicious batt from Artemis Artemis (also on Etsy - see link to right):

which spun up to look like this:

.. and there is more to be spun....

You always have the best pictures! And the "water" painting on Etsy is great. I love it.
