The most wonderful summer day today...all week, in fact as I've been off "work" and having a (what I'm told is called a) Stay-cation, meaning I've not gone off to Fiji as I might have done, but instead have been hanging out at home getting some stuff done, but also, as I did today, just screwing around doing what I want.

Drove up north of Taos today to drive the 'Enchanted Circle' that spirals around through Angel Fire, Eagle Nest, Elizabethtown, Red River, Questa, and then took a detour to the Rio Grande Gorge, down into the gorge, up again and south to Santa Cruz, Chimayo, Nambe, and home. I LOVE a road trip.

Along the way I stopped at theEspanola Fiber Arts Center which I finally joined so as to enjoy their classes, open spin and knit days, and to get a discount off their great selection of fibers and more. Thinking of the yarn I bought at Estes, I picked up some Procion dyes and a touch of Indigo which I have to look into more. More fun ahead!

Here are some pics of the yarn I spun from ilashdesigns@etsy.com's colorway, "My English Garden", a batt mentioned in a previous post. It spun up beautifully. I spun about half into a two ply to post on Etsy, and the other half I kept as singles and wove into a scarf.
